How It Starts

In the state of Illinois, a driving under the influence offense can entail a variety of impaired driving behaviors, ranging from drunk driving to driving under the influence of drugs. (Abused, illegal or prescribed.) If your blood-alcohol concentration is higher 0.08 percent, you’re legally impaired and, therefore, driving illegally.

However, if you’re driving with a blood-alcohol concentration between 0.05 and 0.08 percent, it’s still possible to be cited with DUI if your behavior indicates impairment. This is at the discretion of the law enforcement officer citing you. Even if below the legal limit, you are still more prone to be involved in a motor vehicle accident than if you did not consume any alcohol.

Citation for DUI offenses :

In the event that receive a citation for DUI offenses and referred to Bellosa Counseling by the criminal justice system, you’ll fulfill an assessment to determine classification and risk level. The results are used to determine treatment planning. DUI risk education typically occurs in a small group setting. The focus of the education group is primarily on the legal consequences of a DUI arrest and the influence that alcohol and drugs have upon your family and your physical and mental health.

Objective of DUI evaluations

The objective of DUI evaluations and risk education classes at Bellosa Counseling is to help educate the offender and minimize the probability of getting another DUI offense.
